Vegetarian Dish: Riceballs with Melting Chocolate (Dessert)

The 15th day of Lunar New Year is known as the Lantern Festival & Chinese Valentine’s Day. For this year, the day falls on 24.2.2013. People generally appreciate lanterns & play riddles written on the lanterns. Sweet Riceball is the most popular festive food of this day. People put their favorite sweet fillings e.g. sesame, red beans in the rice dough to make a dessert. In this article, I’ll introduce the making of Riceballs with Melting Chocolate.

Ingredients
Glutinous Rice Flour (180g for 18 dumplings) (flexible)
Chocolate

Add warm water little by little to the flour & rub it into a strip/strips

Divide the strip into small pieces in equal size

Press each small round dough & put a small chocolate piece onto the center of it. Wrap the chocolates with the doughs & rub them into balls with  palms

Boil a bowl of water with level about 2 inches higher than the size of the balls . When it boils, put the balls in & continue to cook them in boiling water. When the balls float, they are ready to serve. The chocolate fillings have already turned from a solid to a smooth & yummy melting state. You may also put the riceballs into a fluid dessert. Enjoy.
