Some non-vegetarians have the practice of eating vegetarian foods on the 1st & 15th in every month (days with a Full Moon) of the Lunar calendar. People pursue such practice for different reasons but anyway it’s not a bad thing to do so. You may also design your own schedule such as eating vegetarian foods on the 1st & 15th in every month of a Gregorian calendar (Solar calendar), or on the 2nd & 16th etc. This practice serves as a reminder of eating less meat & replace meat with vegetarian foods at regular intervals, and is a good start of going vegetarian or flexitarian.
Here is a list of dates indicating the 1st and 15th day of the Lunar months in 2013 from February to December.
